Tell Me About Solar Panels

Solar panels can do one of two things for homeowners. They can either provide a home with hot water or they can generate electricity. Only PV ( photovoltaic) solar panels can generate electricity.  Getting homeowners to instal a solar panel array and generate their own clean solar energy is a priority for many countries worldwide as domestically generated solar energy is less polluting and  it helps insure  energy security.

The generation of solar power has increased rapidly worldwide although solar power, along with other renewable energy, accounts for only a small percentage of all electricity generated. PV solar panels are becoming a more common sight on UK rooftops thanks to generous feed-in tariffs but the high initial cost of the panels still scares off many homeowners who look into joining the feed-in tariff.

It is predicted that the cost of solar panels will continue to drop as more nations near the equator are starting to take advantage of solar power. There are still millions of people worldwide that do not have access to electricity, spurring the development of cheap, efficient solar panels. China dominates the solar panel manufacturing market, the nation accounted for at least half the world’s solar panel production in 2010, offering cheap solar panels for export. The cheaper solar panels become, the more people will be willing to generate clean electricity domestically.
